Meet Oso (a.k.a. Gary): Big Heart, Big Paws, Bigger Personality

📍 South Carolina | 🎂1 .5 years old | ⚖️ 92 lbs

Meet Oso — affectionately called Gary by his foster family — a big, goofy 19-month-old Berner mix who’s still figuring out life (and how big he is). At 86 lbs, he’s basically a puppy in a full-grown body, and he’s looking for a foster-to-adopt home where he can keep learning, loving, and thriving.

Gary is currently in Camden, SC, and ready to be someone’s very best boy — especially if that someone is a strong, confident woman with a fenced yard and a sense of humor.

House-trained

Knows basic commands

Great on leash and good in the car

Kid-friendly, cat-tolerant, and loves being part of the pack

Enjoys other dogs, especially confident ones who help him know when playtime is over

Does great left out in the home — as long as your bread is hidden 😆

Gary is not a fan of crates — in fact, they stress him out to the point of crate aggression. But when left out, he’s a perfect gentleman (again, hide the carbs!). He’s also a little wary of men, especially male partners in the household, so slow, respectful introductions and a woman-led home would be ideal for helping him feel safe.

He’s still young and needs continued coaching on manners, boundaries, and building confidence — but he’s sweet, goofy, and eager to belong.

If you’re looking for a big, lovable pup with personality for days and the potential to become your shadow, Gary is waiting for a soft place to land and a person to call his own.
