Surrender a Bernese Mountain Dog
We’re Here to Listen
We understand that reaching out about surrendering a dog can be emotional and difficult. Our goal is always to act in the best interest of the dog while treating every situation with compassion and respect.
Submitting a surrender request helps our intake team understand your circumstances and determine how we may be able to help.
What to Know Before Submitting a Request
NBMDRN is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue with limited capacity. We do not have a central facility or kennel, and intake decisions depend on available foster homes, medical needs, and current rescue commitments.
Submitting a surrender request does not guarantee intake, but every request is reviewed thoughtfully and carefully.
How the Surrender Process Works
When you submit a surrender request:
Your information is reviewed by our intake team
We evaluate the dog’s needs, background, and medical considerations
We assess current foster availability and rescue capacity
A volunteer may reach out with follow-up questions
We will contact you once a decision has been made
Response times may vary depending on urgency and available resources.
Important Considerations
NBMDRN focuses on purebred Bernese Mountain Dogs
Intake decisions are made case-by-case
We prioritize situations involving safety, medical need, or lack of alternatives
We work collaboratively when possible, but cannot assist every request immediately
Our responsibility is to ensure that any dog we take in can receive proper care, stability, and support.
