Twila is a sweet, settled girl who came into foster care a little uncertain about the world. You would hardly know it now. Since arriving in her foster home in Kentucky, her energy has blossomed, her appetite has returned, and she has started venturing out of her crate to hang out with her people. She is blossoming into a sweet, confident girl who is ready to find her forever home.
🐾 Behavior & Personality
Calm, gentle, and affectionate — not reactive or fear-based in any observed environment
Responds to her name every single time and trots right over for love
That tail. It is the happiest, smackiest tail in all of Kentucky — consider the coffee table warned
No observed reactivity to sudden noises or movements
🦮 Exercise & Training
Low-to-moderate energy — one walk a day keeps her happy and content
Good on a leash (still hilariously working out how to navigate poles)
Highly food-motivated, especially hot dogs — makes training an absolute joy
Fully house-trained and lets you know when it is time to go outside
🏠 Around the Home
Crate-trained and now happily spends time out of her crate with her foster family
Settles into car rides almost immediately — a dream travel companion
Calm and welcoming with new people — no jumping, no retreating
Stays put even when the gate is left open
👨👩👧 Socialization
Gets along well with dogs of all temperaments
Sweet and gentle with small children (tail supervision advised for toddlers 😄)
Has not been tested with indoor cats — a cat-free home is preferred

Twila has been diagnosed with late stage renal dysplasia
She is happy, comfortable, and doing well on a carefully managed diet
Her coat has genuinely never looked better since starting her proper nutrition plan
Her forever family will need to be committed to her specialized diet and ongoing vet care

A patient, loving family who will let her continue coming out of her shell at her own pace
A securely fenced yard is preferred — though at her energy level, it is not a dealbreaker
Cat-free home strongly preferred
Families with children are very welcome
