Adopted: Thalia

She Got Out Just in Time — and She's Never Looked Back 🌟

📍 Dayton, OH | 🎂 20 months | ⚖️ ~60 lbs

Thalia was dumped at a shelter by a breeder at just eighteen months old. It could have broken her. Instead, she bounded out the other side with her spirit fully intact — joyful, cuddly, and ready to love someone with everything she has.

She had never been on a couch before coming into foster care. Never laid on anything soft. Now? She is the first one on the cushions and the last one to leave. Every morning she bounds around with pure, unfiltered joy — and every evening she curls up next to her person like she was born for exactly this. She was. She just needed someone to show her.

Thalia is still growing in confidence, and she has moments of skittishness around loud noises, certain doorways, and unfamiliar men. But her core is warm, friendly, and deeply loving — and with patience she warms up quickly, especially with women. She is extremely food motivated (cheese is basically magic with this one — do not mention peanut butter), which makes training a genuine pleasure.

She is still working on potty training — no accidents in the house, but she can have nervous pee moments — and she is not her crate's biggest fan, though she sleeps in it at night. She would much rather wait for you on the couch, and honestly, can you blame her?

Thalia would do best in a home that offers:

  • 🏡 A securely fenced yard

  • 🏠 Someone home most of the time — working from home is ideal

  • 🐾 A confident dog companion to help her continue building confidence

  • 👶 Older children who know how to interact with dogs; younger kids with caution

  • 🧘 Patient, calm adopters — especially important around men and loud environments

  • 💛 Lots of couch time, cuddles, and someone who will let her be their shadow

Thalia got out just in time — before anyone could dim that light she carries. Now she's looking for the person who will make sure it never goes out. 💕
