Adopt: Slash
Meet Slash — a stunning 3-year, 10-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog located in Southern Ohio. Weighing over 90 pounds, this boy is as majestic as they come, with a bold personality and a heart full of love.
Slash is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and looking for a very special home — one where he can be your one and only. He’s not a fan of sharing the spotlight with other pets or small children. Instead, he thrives with a work-from-home or retired individual or couple who has plenty of time to spend with him and understands the bond of a loyal dog who chooses you as his person.
From the moment Slash picks his human, it’s obvious he craves deep companionship. He’s known for his giant morning hugs, belly rub snuggles, and sticking by your side throughout the day. He enjoys being brushed, playing hard, and relaxing even harder — preferably on the couch, right next to you.
While he’s a sweet and trainable guy, Slash needs a strong, confident leader. He’s a determined dog who will need ongoing training on leash manners and how to greet new people and animals — both on and off leash. The right tools (halter, slip lead, harness) and consistency will be key in helping him succeed.
Though not a fit for homes with indoor cats or small children, Slash does well in structured environments like doggy daycare. But he isn’t suited for multi-dog households, especially where he may have to compete for attention. He needs a space to call his own, where he is the center of your world — and you are his.
Slash currently lives in a rural setting, and that’s where he thrives. He needs a large, securely fenced yard to explore and patrol. He’s vocal and protective, quick to alert you of any nearby wildlife or vehicles, making him a fantastic companion for someone seeking both love and security. City life or densely populated areas aren’t for him — Slash is country through and through.
