Maisie has figured out the good life — and she is fully committed to it. She taught herself to climb onto the bed, claimed the pillow right next to her person's head, and has developed a television habit that her foster family did not see coming. She is a deeply affectionate, wonderfully snuggly mill mama who spent too long without softness and is making up for every bit of it. She will lay directly on top of you, nudge your hand with her nose when she wants attention, and do her very best to physically occupy the same space as you at all times. She is learning to use a playful voice with her foster brother, picking up clothes to cuddle with in bed, and has recently started jumping onto furniture rather than pulling herself up — small victories that mean everything when you know where she started.
Maisie loves other dogs of all sizes, is a great car rider, walks nicely on leash, and adores children — though she needs supervision with little ones since she genuinely does not understand that 110 pounds is a lot to sit on someone. She is cautious with new people and a little more hesitant around men, but she approaches with curiosity and opens up warmly with gentle encouragement. She is also, notably, more motivated by love and affection than treats — which is both adorable and very on brand for a dog who just wants to be as close to her people as physically possible.
