Meet Maple – A Resilient Soul Ready for Love 🐾
Beech Grove, IN • 6 years old • 81 lbs
Maple’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her heart is still full of love.
This 6-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog was found in critical condition with a life-threatening infection (pyometra) and left for dead. Thankfully, animal control intervened, and we were able to get her the emergency care and surgery that saved her life. Now healed and safe in foster care, Maple is ready to find a forever home that understands her gentle spirit and gives her the stability she deserves.
Maple is a sweet, velcro girl who loves her people deeply but needs time to build trust. She’s still skittish and nervous around new people and loud noises, but once she feels safe, she’s affectionate, loyal, and eager to please.
💛 Why We Love Maple:
House-trained and does great left loose in the home
Knows basic commands: sit, down, come
Does well on leash
Needs a confident dog friend to help guide her
Older kids okay – young children may overwhelm her
Would thrive in a quiet home with a WFH or retired person
Fenced yard required – she loves being outside and may bolt when frightened
Not yet cat tested
Maple may need a few meet-and-greets to feel comfortable with new people, but once she trusts you, her love is something special. With patience and a calm environment, Maple will blossom into the loyal companion she was always meant to be.
If you’re ready to offer a second chance to a girl who deserves the world, Maple is waiting.
