Adopt: Lucia
A Whole Lot of Love in One Fluffy Package 🐾
📍 Granville, OH | 🎂 1 year old | ⚖️ 79 lbs
Meet Lucia — but her people call her Loo, and she will absolutely answer to both. This one-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog is equal parts calm and playful, deeply affectionate, and the kind of dog who makes you wonder how anyone could have ever done her wrong.
Loo spent her first nine months of life in a barn stall, rescued from an Amish breeder in Ohio. What's remarkable is that despite everything, she came out the other side with zero bitterness and a heart full of trust. She is gentle with everyone she meets — kids, dogs of all sizes, strangers — and has never shown a single sign of aggression. She simply wants to love and be loved, and she's very, very good at both.
She's already potty trained and crate trained, which is a wonderful head start for a pup her age. She's playful and trainable, and with a little patience and consistency she is going to absolutely flourish. Her favorite things? Chew toys, tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being wherever her people are.
Because of her early life, Loo does experience some separation anxiety when left alone, so she would thrive best with someone who is home often — whether that means working from home, bringing her along, or simply having a flexible schedule that keeps her close.
Loo would do best in a home that offers:
🏡 Someone home often — she bonds deeply and doesn't love being left alone
👶 Kids are very welcome — she would love growing up alongside a family
🐾 Other dogs welcome — she does great with all sizes
📋 Continued patience and routine as she builds confidence
💛 A devoted forever family ready to love her as fiercely as she loves them
Lucia has already survived more than any dog should have to. Now she's ready for the chapter where everything gets better — and she'll spend every single day making sure you know how grateful she is. 💕
