Bentley is a stunning, larger-than-life Berner with brains, beauty, and enough personality to fill a room — twice. He loves the outdoors, cuddles at your feet at the end of a long day, and has recently discovered a deep appreciation for horses. He is, in every sense of the word, a lot — and in the best possible hands, he is going to be absolutely magnificent.
Bentley spent his first year with free reign and no real structure, which means he came into foster care as a self-described wild child. Six weeks of dedicated foster care and five weeks of professional training later, he is a different dog — one who knows manners, understands boundaries, and is genuinely trying. He is still a work in progress, and he needs an adopter who understands that and is fully committed to continuing what has been started.
This is not a dog for a passive household. Bentley's trainer has been clear: his home requires humans who remain dominant and in charge at all times. He is incredibly intelligent — smart enough to open doors, smart enough to test every boundary you set, and smart enough to thrive beautifully when given consistent, structured leadership. Without it, he will find his way back to old habits. With it, he will be extraordinary.
Bentley would do best in a home that offers:
🏡 A large, securely fenced yard — minimum 5 feet high with very secure gates (he can open doors)
👑 Dominant, structured leadership at all times — this is a non-negotiable requirement from his trainer
🎓 Experienced dog owners who can handle, control, and continue training a powerful, highly intelligent dog
🐾 Other dogs are welcome — calm, confident companions only
🚫 No children
🚫 No cats or small farm animals
💪 Adopters who are physically able to handle and control a strong 90 lb dog who likes to push limits
